TEMBA GYALBO SHERPA
As my grandfather (paternal) was originally from Tibet and belongs to the ethnic group Sherpa my name is as well Temba Gyalbo Sherpa. However my passport shows my officially surname Tamang. I was born and grown up in Shyafru (region of Langtang), a village in Tamang people’s living area. All people who belong to this ethnic group have the surname Tamang.
In the age of 15 years I started to lead trekking tourists through the narrow trails of Langtang. There time the amount of trekking travelers was not comparable with today. After Nepal’s opening in 1955 only a few people traveled in this unknown country.
Since more than 28 years I am working in trekking tourism and for more than 12 years I am guiding groups to Everest, Annapurna, Mustang, Dolpo, Langtang, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Simikot, Manaslu, Mt. Kailash, Sikkim and Darjeeling.
In 2003 I established my own trekking agency “Tembasnepaltrek“. In 2008 we changed the corporate form in “Tembas Nepal Trek & Expedition Pvt. Ltd.”.
I feel very close with Europe, especially with Germany and the German peopleI. I traveled to Europe several times and visited my German God parents in Kirchheim (Neckar) and my European friends in Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Netherlands and Spain. As well I got the chance to do trekking in Tannheimer Tal (Austria), in Black Forest (Germany and France) and in Pyrenees between France and Spain.

SABINE JUTTA PRETSCH
Since I arrived in Nepal in February 2008 I have met on the one side colorful liveliness, joy and heartiness and on the other side very simple and poor life as well as a lot of chaotic situations and challenges.
Nevertheless solutions are found for all situations and conditions and after a while they do not seem essential anymore. I feel very well and home in Kathmandu and that is much more important.
Meanwhile I am supporting Temba and our company Tembas Nepal Trek & Expedition Pvt. Ltd. in organization and administration.
Therefore the former course of my life is really helpful:
I was grown up in Germany in Lorch, a small Swabian town near Stuttgart and I studied in Schwetzingen at the university for applied science (branch of study: justice).
After my exam in 1995 I was working in a law firm’s (1 ½ years) and a car company’s (3 years) legal department.
For 7 years I was a bank’s employee. Within this time I worked in the legal department for 6 years. First I joined the branch in Stuttgart (corporate finance) for 2 years and then I changed to the headquarters in Düsseldorf to the field environment and traffic (project finance, especially wind power and solar financing) as well to the field structured finance. For 1 year I was working in the audit department.
