For Hindus, Buddhists and Jainas the Kailash represents the center of the universal Mandala. MountKailash is their "world mountain" and the centre of the cosmos.  Such an expedition offers deep insights into the original Tibetan culture and wonderful nature and landscape experiences.

A trip into the mysterious Tibet is often a life‘s dream that like to become completed. The incredible width and the spirituality of this country have attracked many pilgrims, researchers and adventurers already for decades.

Tibetans are deeply religious people who believe in the Tibetan Buddhism and keep the Buddhist ceremonies and traditions very stringently.  The Buddhism stretches through the entire country with numerous monasteries, temples, prayer stones and prayer flags.  The Tibetan population with their openness, tolerance and kindness are very charming people.

  • Explore Tibet’s capital city Lhasa
  • Kora around the Holy Mount Kailash
  • Visit Holy Lake Manasarovar
  • Visit kingdom of Guge, Canyon of Tholing and monastery of Tsaparan
  • Fascinating views to Mount Kailash (6,714 m) and Mount Everest (Tibetan side)

Lhasa
Lhasa in a height of 3,650 m is the capital of Tibet.  Visits to Potala palace (former residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama), to Norbulinka (former summer residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama), to Jokhang temple, to Sera monastery and to Drepung monastery are recommended.

The drive from Lhasa to Lake Manasarovar leads through the region Tsang with its famous places Gyantse, Xigatse, Lhatse and Saga.  Also in these places, many famous Buddhist monasteries (Palkhor monastery, Kumbum Stupa, Tashilumpho monastery, Sakya monastery, etc.) can be seen.

Lake Manasarovar
The Holy Lake Manasarovar is located at 4,560 m and is worshipped by Tibetans and Indians.  Many pilgrims and believers walk around the Holy Mountain Mount Kailash and around the Holy Lake Manasarovar.  The lake with crystal clear water offers together with the snow covered mountain range a fascinating natural scenery.

Mount Kailash
The Holy Mountain Mount Kailash (6,714 m) is a magic attraction to many people. Regarding to the Hindu and Buddhist religions, every believer should complete at least one circumambulantion around Mount Kailash in their life.  In order to get more happiness and fewer sorrows in the next life the circumambulation should be done by prostrations.

The circumambulation, named "Parikrama " in Nepalese and "Kora " in Tibetan, comprises 52 km and lasts 3 days.

Kingdom of Guge
The Kingdom of Guge in western Tibet (region Ngari) looks like a landscape on the moon.  It seems as no one lives in this barren landscape with numerous canyons.  In the 10th century the old Kingdom was a very important and wealthy trade center between Tibet and India.

Mount Everest (Tibetan side)
From the Tibetan side one obtains the best view to the northface of the world highest Mounain Mount Everest (8,848 m) or "Chomolungma ". The access is technically simpler than from the Nepali side.

Tour details:

Difficulty  and requirements

The Kailash Round is technically simple, but due to the height however very strenuous. Our plan stipulates 3 days for the Kailash Round (Parikrama). The highest point of this trip is Dolma La Pass with 5,670 m. During the drive and during the Kora you will stay always in heights over 3,000 m and/or over 4,000 m. The possibility of the mountain attitude sickness should be always kept in mind.

The long daily drive in Jeeps through the deserted and wide Tibetan highland requires high physically and psychic aspects. They require stamina from all participants. Your organism must be healthy and you need good condition. During the stay in Tibet, you spend the night usually in customary hotels and guest houses. These are partially extremely simple lodges with little comfort and simplest sanitary plants.  In the guest houses, double rooms cannot be guaranteed; overnight stay in more bed rooms is possible.

As Chinese allow Nepalese Sherpa services our Nepalese guide will accompany you during the tour in Tibet.  Active assistance during the Kora in all occurring works (built-up and built down of the tents, etc.) should be naturally. Tolerance and partnership spirit are prerequisite for this tour. For the tour you need a day backpack in which you can carry the most necessary things like rain protection, pullover, drinking water bottle etc. Other baggage and equipment are transported by jeep.
